To Teach Their Countrymen
Lithuanian Republicans Have Plan To Make Citizens.
With a view of aiding them in obtaining their naturalization papers, it was decided last night at a smoker held by the First Lithuanian Republican Club as Lithuanian Central Hall, on West Barre street, to appoint a special committee to teach all Lithuanians who come here the Constitution of the United States.
It was pointed out at the meeting that there are more than 10,000 Lithuanians in Baltimore and several hundred reach this port annually. John Chester, president of the club, presided. The other officers who attended were Alfred J. Goldwine, vice-president; Charles Balttrusaitis, secretary, and Anton Schortz, sergeant-at-arms.
