WINDMILLS International Dance Festival This Saturday, April 23
Baltimore, MD – After 2 years of COVID shutdown the Windmills International Dance Festival is back and celebrating its 5th year! Windmills will be featuring dancing from several Eastern European and Asian geographic locations including the UKRAINE, HUNGARY, LATVIA, LITHUANIA, and other regions.
Experience an afternoon of energetic dancing, beautiful costumes, and wonderful food at the WINDMILLS International Dance Festival on Saturday, April 23 from 1:00 – 5:30 PM in the Grand Ballroom of the Lithuanian Hall in Baltimore, MD!
Tickets are $20 for Adults; $18 for Seniors. Children 12 and under are free. Tickets can be purchased at the door on the day of the event or can be purchased in advance through EVENTBRITE.
To support the disparities happening in Ukraine, WINDMILLS will donate 10% of the profits to the Ukraine Emergency - United Nations World Food Programme which is currently providing critical food assistance to thousands of families fleeing the Ukraine-Russian conflict.
After the WINDMILL performances, an INTERNATIONAL FOLK-DANCE WORKSHOP will be held to give audience members the opportunity to dance some traditional dances from many of the European regions. The FREE dance workshop will start at 6:00 PM. (Folk DanceWorkshop is free to public. Doors open at 5:30 pm)
Egle Baublyte-Noeth, the event originator and coordinator, explained, "This Festival was created to integrate, preserve and promote Baltimore and D.C 's rich cultural heritage by bringing together these different and diverse dance groups. The focus is to bring harmony through dance and to place Baltimore on the map as an exhibition place for artistic folk-dance. "
Delicious traditional Eastern European food will be available for purchase during the event such as Cepelinai, Koldunas (dumplings) and Sakotis, etc. Also, a cash bar will be offering a wide variety of European beer and liquor and non-alcoholic drinks.
The Lithuanian Hall address is 851 Hollins St, Baltimore, MD 21201. Street parking is very limited, but garage parking is available in the UM Biopark Garage at 1 N Poppleton St (at the corner of N. Poppleton St and Baltimore St and 2 blocks from the Hall) and is recommended.
