The Baltimore National Heritage Area (BNHA) has recently announced eight deserving projects and organizations that will receive vital preservation funding through the agency’s Small Capital Grant Award program.
In a press release on their website about the grant awards, Shauntee Daniels, Executive Director of BNHA, says that the purpose of the Small Capital Grant program is to “provide small, but strategic investments in capital projects at cultural heritage sites to create economic development through heritage tourism.” Daniels continued “This grant program has leveraged an additional $13 in investment for every dollar granted. That’s over $14 million invested within the boundaries of the Baltimore National Heritage Area in the last ten years. We like to call this a small, but a mighty, capital resource for our most significant yet smaller architectural gems in Baltimore.”
